過(guò)去的一年,寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)科技事業(yè)星光璀璨。
6月15日下午,2020年度浙江省科學(xué)技術(shù)獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)大會(huì)在浙江省人民大會(huì)堂召開(kāi)。英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)獲得國(guó)際科學(xué)技術(shù)合作獎(jiǎng)。寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)教學(xué)副校長(zhǎng)May Tan-Mullins教授被浙江省政府授予“西湖友誼獎(jiǎng)”。
會(huì)上,寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)牽頭的創(chuàng)新成果“基于過(guò)程強(qiáng)化的有機(jī)固廢高效清潔資源化轉(zhuǎn)化技術(shù)與應(yīng)用”獲浙江省科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)三等獎(jiǎng)。

重磅獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)花落英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)
由寧波市人民政府提名,英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)獲得2020年度浙江省國(guó)際科學(xué)技術(shù)合作獎(jiǎng)。這是寧波市首次獲得該獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng),也是對(duì)英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)與浙江省開(kāi)展科研合作、學(xué)術(shù)交流、人才培養(yǎng)等方面成績(jī)的充分肯定。
提名意見(jiàn)中寫(xiě)道:“寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)的建立不僅為引進(jìn)世界一流大學(xué)優(yōu)質(zhì)教學(xué)資源開(kāi)了先河,也為引進(jìn)英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)優(yōu)勢(shì)學(xué)科與技術(shù)提供了一個(gè)良好的平臺(tái),對(duì)浙江乃至全國(guó)高等教育和科技合作的發(fā)展都具有深遠(yuǎn)影響。依托寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)這一平臺(tái),英國(guó)諾丁漢大學(xué)在人才輸出和人才培養(yǎng)、優(yōu)勢(shì)學(xué)科與本地產(chǎn)業(yè)需求的結(jié)合及戰(zhàn)略性平臺(tái)搭建等方面貢獻(xiàn)卓越,成果顯著。”

副校長(zhǎng)May Tan-Mullins教授
獲“西湖友誼獎(jiǎng)”
會(huì)上,寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)教學(xué)副校長(zhǎng)May Tan-Mullins教授因其對(duì)寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)、寧波當(dāng)?shù)睾椭袊?guó)的貢獻(xiàn)被浙江省政府授予“西湖友誼獎(jiǎng)”。西湖友誼獎(jiǎng)是浙江省政府授予在浙外國(guó)專(zhuān)家的最高獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng),以表彰在浙江現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)中作出重要貢獻(xiàn)的外國(guó)專(zhuān)家。
新加坡籍教授May Tan-Mullins自2009年起在寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)執(zhí)教,于2018年1月1日起擔(dān)任寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)教學(xué)副校長(zhǎng)。
同時(shí),她也是國(guó)際關(guān)系學(xué)教授、亞太研究所主任。她成功地將寧波這座城市置于世界學(xué)術(shù)地圖上,使它成為人文和社會(huì)科學(xué)的卓越學(xué)術(shù)中心。
值得一提的是,她還被聘為寧波中東歐國(guó)家合作研究院國(guó)際交流與合作中心理事,同時(shí)也擔(dān)任寧波市發(fā)展研究中心、寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)國(guó)際合作研究所所長(zhǎng)。通過(guò)參與在國(guó)際關(guān)系和公共政策領(lǐng)域的政策協(xié)商與制定,她對(duì)浙江省在政府政策和國(guó)際化戰(zhàn)略方面,做出了很大貢獻(xiàn)。
獲此殊榮,May Tan-Mullins教授謙遜地表示:

吳韜教授領(lǐng)銜的創(chuàng)新成果
獲浙江省科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)三等獎(jiǎng)
會(huì)上,由寧波諾丁漢大學(xué),寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)新材料研究院有限公司,寧波市北侖環(huán)保固廢處置有限公司,寧波開(kāi)誠(chéng)生態(tài)技術(shù)有限公司作為完成單位的創(chuàng)新成果“基于過(guò)程強(qiáng)化的有機(jī)固廢高效清潔資源化轉(zhuǎn)化技術(shù)與應(yīng)用”獲浙江省科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)三等獎(jiǎng)。
據(jù)悉,該創(chuàng)新成果由寧波諾丁漢大學(xué)理工學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)吳韜教授領(lǐng)銜。項(xiàng)目組利用微波過(guò)程強(qiáng)化技術(shù)實(shí)現(xiàn)中小規(guī)模熱解及催化重整的強(qiáng)化,開(kāi)展了有機(jī)固廢熱化學(xué)轉(zhuǎn)化及污染物控制、微波強(qiáng)化催化熱解/氣化技術(shù)、生物油及熱解氣的催化重整等系列技術(shù)研究,實(shí)現(xiàn)基于過(guò)程強(qiáng)化技術(shù)的有機(jī)固廢高效能源化、清潔化轉(zhuǎn)化及近零排放,有效避免傳統(tǒng)工藝的二次污染物排放問(wèn)題。
該項(xiàng)目通過(guò)過(guò)程強(qiáng)化技術(shù),在有機(jī)固資源化處置領(lǐng)域首次解決了小型化和高效率的矛盾,綜合能耗水平較傳統(tǒng)處置方法顯著降低,同時(shí)技術(shù)經(jīng)濟(jì)性顯著提升,豐富了有機(jī)固廢資源化處置以及清潔排放的途徑。該項(xiàng)目技術(shù)后續(xù)應(yīng)用于餐廚垃圾/沼渣/廢塑料的資源化處置和危險(xiǎn)有機(jī)固廢的處置過(guò)程,實(shí)現(xiàn)分類(lèi)后有機(jī)固廢的高效資源化、能源化轉(zhuǎn)化,具有顯著的環(huán)境效益、社會(huì)效益,有助于美麗浙江和無(wú)廢城市的建設(shè)。
University of Nottingham family wins multiple awards on 2020 Zhejiang Science and Technology Award Conference
15 June: On the 2020 Zhejiang Science and Technology Award Conference held in Hangzhou, a total of 301 scientific and technological innovation achievements won the provincial science and technology award. University of Nottingham, UK obtained International Science and Technology Cooperation Award. Professor May Tan-Mullins, Vice-Provost of UNNC, was awarded the West Lake Friendship Award by Zhejiang Provincial Government.
“Research and Development (R&D) on microwave pyrolysis - catalytic reforming based technology and equipment for harmless treatment and resource utilisation of pharmaceutical sludge”, led by University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), won the third prize for Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award.
Nominated by Ningbo municipal government, University of Nottingham (UoN) was granted 2020 Zhejiang Province International Science and Technology Cooperation Award. This is the first time for Ningbo to win this award, and it full affirms the cooperative achievements of UoN and Zhejiang Province in scientific research cooperation, knowledge exchange and talent cultivation.
The Award remarks that the establishment of UNNC has set a new example for the introduction of high-quality teaching resources from world-class universities, and exerted a far-reaching influence on the development of higher education and scientific and technological cooperation in Zhejiang Province and even the whole country.
In the meanwhile, UoN has made remarkable achievements in the output and cultivation of talents, and has contributed greatly to the combination of local industry needs and the construction of strategic platforms.
On the conference, Professor May Tan-Mullins was also recognised by Zhejiang Provincial Government for her contribution to social and economic development of the province, and awarded the West Lake Friendship Award. It is the highest honour that Zhejiang province can bestow upon a foreign national.
Professor Tan-Mullins joined UNNC in 2009. Now she is a professor in International Relations and the Director of Institute of Asia and Pacific Studies (IAPS). She contributed a lot on policy consultation and formulation in areas of international relations and public policy.
"It's my honour to be recognised by Zhejiang provincial government and to win this award. This a great affirmation to me and the University as well. I want to share this honour with UNNC staff, students and the whole Ningbo," said Professor Tan-Mullins.
The prize winning project “Research and Development on microwave pyrolysis - catalytic reforming based technology and equipment for harmless treatment and resource utilisation of pharmaceutical sludge” was led by Professor Tao Wu, Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering at UNNC.
Through process enhancement technology, the project solves the contradiction between miniaturisation and high efficiency in the field of organic solid waste resource disposal for the first time. The overall energy consumption is significantly lowered compared to that of traditional disposal methods, and the technical economy is considerably improved.
The future application of the technology of this project will be able to achieve efficient and specific transformation of organic solid waste into resources with remarkable environmental and social benefits, contributing to the sustainable development of the province.
